Taking it slow in the morning with a good routine, will lower you stress level and influent the rest of your day. It is very important to take care of yourself to stay healthy, and that also includes getting a good start of the day.
I will give you 5 great ways, that will give you a better day, with less stress and more power.
1: Set your alarm to start 10 minutes before you have to get up
Set your alarm a bit earlier than you want to get up. Not so you can snooze until you must get up, but so you can wake up easy, and notice how you feel. If you start your day stressful you will have more tendency to get a bad day. But if you take your time lying in bed, you can decide which kind of day you want to have. Lying in bed for about 10 minutes before you get started and just notice yourself, is a very good way to connect with yourself before you start your day.
2: Start the day with a good stretch
While you are still lying in the bed, you should start taking a good stretch to wake up your body slowly. In that way you give your body an easy start, and slowly your mind and body will be more awaken, and ready to get out of bed.
Additionally, you can take some more stretches after you get out of bed to really be ready for the day. Stretching out will also make your body more flexible and reduce tight muscles. Being more flexible and less stiff, will make you feel fresher and increase your energy level.
Additionally, stretching out in the morning will lead to a lot of benefits:
- Increases the flexibility in muscles and joints
- It will better the blood circulation
- Remove tensions
- Prevent stress
Stretching is a great way to start your day in order to kickstart your day. And the best of all, you can do it while you are still lying in your warm bed.
3: Glass of water with a piece of lemon
It is very good for you stomach to start the day with a glass of water. In that way your intestines will wake up and get ready to digest your first meal. It is best to drink the water at least 20 minutes before eating breakfast. During the night you lose a lot of fluids in your body, and it is therefore important to fill up your tank again to keep yourself hydrated. If you are in balance with your hydration you will also feel fresher and more awake.

To make it even better you should add some lemon in your water. Lemon is very good for your body as it contains a lot of B- and C-vitamins. Also, it contains iron, calcium, and magnesium, which also helps to keep your body healthy.

The only bad side effect with lemon water is that it contains a lot of acids, which is bad for the enamel of the teeth. Therefore, you should brush your teeth before drinking your water with lemon, or you should wait about an hour before brushing your teeth.
4: Make a good healthy breakfast
They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that is not with no reason. Starting your day with a healthy breakfast is very good for your body, because it needs some fuel in order to work optimal. It is important to eat something that contains a lot of good calories with especially carbohydrate with fiber and protein. It will keep you full for a long time, and it will keep your blood sugar steady, so you don’t fall into the need of sugar.
Many people skip the breakfast, either because they don’t have the time to eat it, or because they don’t feel hungry. But when you make it a habit, you will in time not go without breakfast. If you keep it simple it is easier to manage.
Examples of a healthy breakfast:
- Oatmeal with fruit and almonds
- Bread with hummus and avocado
- Smoothie with beans, vegetables, and fruit
5: Slow morning
Just having a nice and calm morning is one of the best ways to start your day. No rush, just you taking it slow. Get up earlier than you have to, so you have time to have a good and slowly morning routine, that make you feel good. Many people have the tendency to rush around and have a lot of to do’s every day all day, so before you have to get on the busy train, it is very important to start your day slow. It will lower your stress level, which in time will make you calmer and in connection with yourself.
